SUCCESSFUL ACTION „26 CHERRIES FOR TOSHE“
On the grounds of the monastery „Saint Preobrazenie“ near Krushevo, within the action “26 CHERRIES FOR TOSHE” 32 municipalities of the country took part.On November.27.2009, 26 cherries were planted in memory of Toshe Proeski in the municipality Krushevo.
In memory of Toshe Proeski, 26 Japanese cherries were planted. The location near the monastery „ Saint Preobrazenie “ is symbolic because it was the place where Toshe spent his free time enthusiastically, striving for quicker reconstruction and monastery arrangement. The following people participated in planning: Naum Budovski-Assistant director of the public enterprise Makedonski sumi- Sector of growing, opera artist Boris Trajanov, well known humanitarian and ecologist, President of Branch trade union of workers of forestry, wood industry and energetic-M.a Zivko Mitrevski, then, Oliver Romevski- close associate and dear friend of Toshe, the Mayor of Krushevo- Vasilco Damceski ,representatives of subsidiary “Lipa: from Krushevo, and great number of citizens and fans of Toshe Proeski. The organizer and holder of this foresting action which has memorial significance connected with the work and life of Toshe Proeski, is the public enterprise Makedonski sumi. Japanese cherry is park plant with decorative function. According to experts’ opinion, this type of decorative tree will grow successfully and in our climate- soil conditions, even at 1.500 м, at which the monastery “Saint Preobrazenie” near Krushevo is located. Two year trunks which were planted have already developed a solid root system so it is expected that they will develop tree tops until spring. These park plants planted on the south east of the monastery inns, will be an excellent decoration of the monastery complex which slowly but surely reaches its completion.
